Commanders Vs Eagles Week 3 Preview and Predictions

Commanders VS Eagles Week 3 Preview and Predictions

The Commanders are set to play the Eagles this Sunday, at 1 P.M. EDT. The Eagles are coming into this matchup as one of the six left undefeated teams in the NFL. The Commanders are coming into this matchup 1-1 after a disappointing loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 2. What’s most intriguing to me will be the QB and Wide Receiver Matchups. We obviously have Carson Wentz playing his old team which is a story by itself. Both QBs have been moving the Ball up the field as Wentz is 2nd in Total Passing Yards heading into Week 3. Hurts is ranked 7th but it’s what he can do in the run game that changes the dynamic. Hurts is top 10 in rushing yards which is incredible for a QB. We will also be blessed by the Football Gods as we get to see Terry Mclaurin and Darius Slay Matchup. Terry Mclaurin is one of the most talented WR’s in the League but will face off against a formidable foe this week in Darius Slay. Slay has been receiving a lot of hype after locking up one of the best receivers in the league in Justin Jefferson. Who do you have winning this Matchup?

Darius Slay Holds Terry Mclaurin to under 20 Yards

Now I know this might seem crazy to some people but it’s honestly a real possibility. Before I get into this I must clarify this doesn’t mean Terry won’t have 20 Yards in the game, but when guarded by Slay. Last Week Slay allowed 1 Catch for 7 Yards against Justin Jefferson, absolutely shutting him out. Now was this 100% on Jefferson or was it on Primetime Kirk Cousins. I’ll leave that up to you to decide. Another thing to take into account is if Terry Mclaurin is even Wentz #1 Target? Through the First two weeks Curtis Samuel has been targeted 20 times to Terry’s 12. That will also be something to look at in this matchup.

Wentz goes 3 consecutive games with an Interception

Wentz has thrown 3 interceptions in his first two weeks with the Commanders. Throwing two against Jacksonville and one against Detroit. That being said, the Eagles are easily the toughest matchup for Wentz so far. Darius Slay by himself might come out with one. Out of all of my predictions this one is the most likely to become true I give it about an 80% Chance.

Eagles Improve to 3-0

As a Commanders fan this one is tough but for me to tell y’all we would win would be delusional. The Eagles have the better team all around and I fully expect AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, and Jalen Hurts to torch the Commanders secondary. My Final Prediction for this game 31-14 Eagles Win.

  1. I know how good Slay is, I will admit he was good last week, but I have a hard time believing he will be that good two weeks in a row. Would not be surprised if McLauren scorched him.

    1. Understandable it was definitely the least probable out of all of my predictions. I’ll always throw a Hot one in. I definitely do believe Slay Can hold Terry if everything falls into the right places imo.
