Josh Giddey’s First Pre Season Game Review

Josh Giddey and the OKC Thunder took on the Denver Nuggets in the Thunder preseason opener.

Many doubts were looming due to the absence of Shai Gilgeous Alexander, Lu Dort, and Chet Holmgren all due to injury the Thunder squad led by Josh Giddey played some really good team basketball, especially playing a team to break down the Nuggets’ offense formed by Jamal Murray, Micheal Porter JR, and Nikola Jokic. A stand out to the Thunder’s performance was their new and improved shooting led by the newly appointed shooting coach Chip Engelland, and then ongoing hustle and willingness to attack the paint at all costs and all doing their role as a team to ensure the victory.

Now onto Josh Giddeys performance, There is a lot to be excited about after this performance, especially in the third quarter which his new and improved shooting form is showcased hitting 2 deep threes and working tirelessly with his shooting in the offseason with Chip Engelland and Jordon Lawley to ensure he adds more to his game than he already has. As always his playmaking didn’t disappoint having 9 assists halfway through the third quarter and could’ve had more if teammates knock down their shots. Not to mention Giddey’s ability to assist players like the 2 Jalen, Jaylin Williams, Ousmane Dieng, and even Tre Mann to give them more good opportunities to score as well as Giddey’s always solid rebounding.

With Giddey finishing with 14pts 12reb and 9ast

The next preseason game is against the Dallas Mavericks!
