Week one of the 2022-2023 is officially over. And it was a crazy week. Russell Wilson loses in Seattle, Super Bowl Champions go down, Joe Burrow throws 4 interceptions, we already have a tie as the Colts and Texans tied, Saquon may be back, and so much more. The start to an exciting season was really fun. Here are my predictions for week two!
Los Angeles Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs
We get to start out this week with an AFC West showdown on Thursday Night Football. Justin Herbert facing off against Patrick Mahomes. Both teams are 1-0 coming into this game. The Chargers started the season with an AFC West game against the Raiders. Derek Carr threw 3 interceptions helping the Chargers go by. The Chiefs faced the Cardinals and well…they proved they didn’t need Tyreek as they won 44-21. Mahomes threw 5 touchdowns. This game should be exciting. But I think the Chiefs take it with the huge momentum they have.
Final Score: 24-10
New York Jets @ Cleveland Browns
The Jets lost week one but they also played the Ravens. Joe Flacco didn’t look terrible as he threw over 300 yards. The Browns finally won a season opener after losing 16 and tying one the past 17 season openers. They faced Baker Mayfield and the Panthers. The first quarter was boring as no one scored. But the Browns kicked it in gear and at the end of the 3rd, they were up 20-7. But the Panthers made a comeback during the 4th but still fell short. I think this will be a good matchup but I see the Browns winning again.
Final Score: 30-17.
Washington Commanders @ Detroit Lions
The Commanders played the Jaguars and won by only 6 due to a late scoring rally in the 4th for the Jags. Washington still held them off and sealed the win. The Lions played a tough Eagles team. It looked like the Eagles were going to kill them but the Lions finally showed up, however, it was too late and the Eagles won by a field goal. Tough luck. This is going to be a test for both of these teams to see who is legit. I have Detroit beating Washington showing us they have a team rising.
Final Score: 31-14
Miami Dolphins @ Baltimore Ravens
Both teams won in week one. The Dolphins defeated the Patriots as their defense did amazing. The Ravens played the Jets so it wasn’t much of a challenge. The Dolphins acquired lots of guys during the offseason and it seems to be some good pickups. The Ravens lost Marquise Brown but have some young talent. I see the Ravens winning this one, although I think it will be pretty close the entire game.
Final Score: 27-24
Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The Colts ended up getting the first tie of the season with the Texans. Rodrigo Blankenship missed the game winning field goal in overtime and the Texans couldn’t do anything the rest of the time. The Colts did waive Blankenship. The Jaguars lost to the Commanders. They tried coming back but it was too late. I think the Colts just had a fluke week one and will win here.
Final Score: 24-14
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints
The Buccaneers faced the Cowboys and beat them 19-3. They only had one touchdown and then they had 4 field goals. It was a pretty boring game nonetheless. The Saints beat the Falcons by only a point. They were down 26-10 at one point in the 4th quarter. But the Saints got together and scored 17 points to make a comeback and take the victory. I think Tom Brady and his squad will take this one.
Final Score: 27-10
Carolina Panthers @ New York Giants
The Panthers played the Browns and lost. The Browns had the lead for a while, but the Panthers started to come back but still fell short. The Giants played the Titans and came out on top. Saquon Barkley looked scary and he could be back. He played amazing and is now at the top of the Comeback Player of the Year award. But it has only been one game, so let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. Saquon vs. McCaffery will be fun. I have the Giants barely edging it out.
Final Score: 31-30
New England Patriots @ Pittsburgh Steelers
The Patriots are coming into this game after losing the Dolphins. The Dolphins just had a great defense and Mac Jones couldn’t get anything to work. The Steelers played the Bengals and had a spectacular defensive side of the ball. They won by a game winning field goal in overtime after many misses. Trubisky did okay but didn’t look the greatest. The Steelers did lose T.J. Watt though as he is expected to be out 6 weeks. I think the Steelers offense will figure it out and win.
Final Score: 22-10
Atlanta Falcons @ Los Angeles Rams
The Falcons looked good last week…in the first three quarters. But then they choked like Falcons old fashion. They let the Saints score 17 in the 4th to win by one point. The defending Super Bowl Champions, Rams, got blown out by Josh Allen and the Bills. Stafford threw three interceptions and they just did not look good. I think the Rams will get an easy break here and take a dub.
Final Score: 35-17
Seattle Seahawks @ San Fransisco 49ers
The Seahawks started their season in Seattle getting revenge on Russell Wilson. They beat them by one point and barely got it done. Geno Smith played pretty well. The 49ers played the Bears. It was a good matchup between two sophomore quarterbacks, Justin Field and Trey Lance. The Bears got it done. Trey Lance didn’t look bad though. I think the 49ers take this one at home.
Final Score: 41-17
Cincinnati Bengals @ Dallas Cowboys
Both teams are looking for a win after losing their first. Joe Burrow threw 4 interceptions and fumbled once. They still almost won. They scored in the last 10 seconds to tie the game. They just needed the extra point, but it was blocked. So they went into overtime. They stopped the Steelers on the first drive. They lined up for a game winning field goal, but McPherson shanked it due to the holder. Then the Steelers missed a field goal. Then the Bengals stopped and won by a field goal. Tough luck for the Bengals. The Cowboys lost to Buccaneers 19-3. They looked bad. They were the only team to not score a touchdown in week one this season. Dak is also out for some time. I think the Bengals bounce back and win here.
Final Score: 31-10
Houston Texans @ Denver Broncos
The Texans were the first to tie this season along with their opponent Colts. They didn’t play terrible and were actually far ahead at one point. But the Colts made a rally, and either team got it to work in overtime. The Broncos were a confusing team in week one. They lost against the Seahawks by a point. They played well, except for the fact that they fumbled twice by the goalline and could not get into the endzone. Then Broncos Coach Nathanial Hackett made a questionable call at the end of the game. McManus missed the game winning field goal. Kickers were nuts this week. I think the Broncos show what they can do and win at home.
Final Score: 38-13
Arizona Cardinals @ Las Vegas Raiders
The Cardinals faced the Chiefs and lost 44-21. Kyler Murray didn’t look the best. Trace McSorely came in for a bit. The Raiders lost to the Chargers after Carr threw 3 interceptions. Both teams could and should have done more than what they did. I think this is going to be one of the best and closest games this week but I think the Raiders will pull the win in.
Final Score: 34-31
Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers
The Bears won in a good sophomore quarterback showdown against the 49ers. Justin Field played well and got the job done. The Packers however, did not look well. They lost to the Vikings as Aaron Rodgers couldn’t connect to receivers. He did this last year against the Saints in the season opener though. I think they will figure it out and take this game, but maybe not by much.
Final Score: 26-20
Tennessee Titans @ Buffalo Bills
We get two Monday games this week and this is the first one. The Titans lost to the Giants in week one after Saquon Barkley went off. Derrick Henry also didn’t produce what he was supposed to. The Bills took down the defending Super Bowl Champs by a lot. Josh Allen looked better than ever, Diggs played really good, it was an all around amazing performance by the Bills. I think they take this one with ease.
Final Score: 42-20
Minnesota Vikings @ Philadelphia Eagles
Our second Monday game this week should be good. The Vikings just beat the Packers and have a huge momentum boost. The Eagles played really good against the Lions and won. But they did let the Lions catch up. I think this is going to be an amazing game to watch. Both teams have so much potential this year. I think the Vikings will get it in the 4th quarter. I do think it will be close until then though.
Final Score: 35-21
I hope you enjoyed my quick recap on each team last week and my predictions for this week! Comment what you think! Thanks!

Amazing article! I really liked your analysis and agree with almost all of these. I have the Cardinals taking there game, and the Bears of course! I also think the Jets could upset the Browns.
