Packers Week 3 Reaction
“How can you not be romantic about football”
– Aaron Rodgers
Week 3 was a hard fought thriller that the Packers eventually came out on top of. A great game from Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams was key and long time kicker Mason Crosby’s walk off field goal sealed the deal. Here are the three biggest take aways from week 3:
- The defense looked really good in the first half. Listen, small victories, the first 6 quarters of Green Bay defense was abysmal, BUT the second half of the Detroit game, and surrendered only 7 points in the first half of the San Francisco game. With Jaire Alexander, Preston Smith, and DeVondre Campbell having good games it will hopefully continue this week.
- Marquez Valdez-Scantling finally looked good. Despite only getting 3 receptions he had 59 yards (19.7 YPC) and a touchdown in the third quarter. If Robert Tonyan is going to be a non factor in the Packers offense, a guy like Scantling stepping up will be clutch.
- Where is Robert Tonyan? 6 receptions over the first 3 games on only 8 targets? The 2020 breakout tight end has disappeared altogether this season from the offensive stats. Will Tonyan be able to be a factor in a late season playoff run or does Rodgers focusing his offense on other guy?
Next week the Packers take on the ice cold Pittsburg Steelers who may be without TJ Watt again. I’ll see you next week! Go Pack Go!!
