2k21 Ratings Predictions (According to the Bubble)

Many players have stepped up during the 8 games that were played in the bubble. Teams have shown that they can compete and that they have superstar caliber players. Although the bubble was only 8 games it seems like it has been an entire season. I believe 2k21 ratings will be adjusted immensely because of a player's bubble performance.

I will be going into 5 players bubble rating and predicted 2k21 rating.

1. TJ Warren

Bubble Rating: 92 OVR

2k21 Rating: 85 OVR

Current Rating: 82 OVR

TJ Warren has gone off in the bubble and has helped the Pacers look like contenders. During the bubble, TJ averaged 31 points and 6 rebounds on 57% from the field and 52% from three. I only have TJ at an 85 OVR next year because TJ has never made an all-star team and has never even been considered a snub from an all-star team. Before the bubble, TJ was underrated averaging a quiet 18 points and 4 rebounds and the leading scorer on a decent Pacers team in a very weak Eastern Conference. Now TJ is seen as the head of the Pacers and even a potential superstar.

2. Michael Porter Jr.

Bubble Rating: 86 OVR

2k21 Rating: 83 OVR

Current Rating: 81 OVR

When Porter was drafted everyone thought he was a steal, getting him with the last pick of the lottery, number 14. However, due to injuries, Porter did not play in 2019 and even did not play the full season this year. During the time he was healthy MPJ averaged 8 points and 4 rebounds on a mere 14 minutes per game. But, when MPJ started playing in the bubble everything changed. Porter was played 33 minutes a game and averaged 22 points and 8 rebounds on 50-40-90 numbers! He emerged as the third scoring threat of Denver and helps make up a scary trio of him, Murray, and Jokic. I have Porter at an 83 in 2k21 because of how amazing he played in the bubble. I consider 85 overall to be an elite player and Porter was that player in the bubble. Porter is one of the most athletic players in the NBA, standing at 6' 10''! With the best passing big in the game in Jokic, if MPJ plays how he did in the bubble he will be one of the top-rated third-year players in 2k.

3. Gary Trent Jr.

Bubble Rating: 83 OVR

2k21 Rating 79 OVR

Current Rating: 76 OVR

Gary Trent Jr. knows his role on the Blazers. He is a shooter. Trent was part of an 8 man rotation that helped Blazers sneak into the playoffs. Trent averaged 17 points per game on 51% three-point shooting. Before the bubble, most NBA fans didn't know his name. Now he is considered one of the best role players in the league. I have Trent coming in at a 79 OVR because he proved himself in the bubble. In my opinion, being an 80 OVR bench player means you are an exceptional bench player and Trent showed he was in the bubble.

4. Devin Booker

Bubble Rating: 94 OVR

2k21 Rating: 90 OVR

Current Rating 86 OVR

During the bubble, the Suns proved they are legit. They earned the respect of the league as coach Monty Williams put it. An 8 game win streak is very impressive. But, when the 8 games are against playoff teams or borderline playoff teams it is incredible. The Suns had not won more than 6 games in a row since 2010 with Steve Nash. Led by Devin Booker, who averaged 31 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists on 50% shooting they played great basketball. Booker is a 90 OVR because he is the best of the best. Booker led a bad Suns team to 8 games in a row! Not to mention, a game-winning shot against the best defensive team in the league, the Clippers! I think Booker proved himself more than anyone else in the bubble and that is why he should get such a ratings boost in 2k21.

5. Brook Lopez

Bubble Rating: 84 OVR

2k21 Rating: 82 OVR

Current Rating: 79 OVR

Brook Lopez is underrated as it is. He is the starting center on the best team in the Eastern Conference and a potential all-defensive team player this year. In the bubble, Lopez averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks on 48% shooting and 44% from three. That sounds like borderline all-star stats to me. Lopez is one of the best defensive centers in the league and is very tough. He really improved his shooting this year and can guard centers like Joel Embiid or Jarrett Allen. Based on his bubble stats alone Lopez deserves to be over an 80 OVR and should that is why I have him at an 82 OVR.
