Today I’m going to be talking about one of the most underrated players in the NBA: Ben Simmons, some of y’all are gonna disgaree but let’s see what you think after this article.
Ben Simmons has had one thing held against him his whole career: His Shot. Yes while he hasn’t gotten a shooters mentality he is amazing at almost every other aspect of the game. Let’s get into it.
Ben Simmons is one of the best defenders in the NBA, he has the ability to guard 1-5. He is also an amazing pickpocket defender.
Offence Lets with the fact that Ben is an amazing playmaker at 6 foot 10 inches. Being a Point Guard or Power Forward (I don’t know anymore) being an amazing playmaker is critical at that height. He is a great finisher. Unfortunately he doesn’t have the confidence to shoot 3s something that will be forever held against him.
Ben Simmons is in the wrong system he had a horrible coach and no knockdown shooters around him. He would thrive with the Warriors where I could see him slot into the power forward position to complement Steph and Klay with his elite playmaking and defense. Don’t he surprised if the warriors make a push for him this offseason.
Ben Simmons has a very underrated impact, a perfect example of this is how the Sixers had a 3-1 record vs the Celtics in the reg season with SImmons but got swept by them when Simmons was injured. He can be a very important piece to a championship contender.
So putting this all into context, is Ben Simmons underrated or overrated? What’s his ceiling as an nba player? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
