Head Coach Sam Pittman has made some staff changes this off season. Many coaches were trying to be pulled off by other top tier programs this season. Indicating that Coach Pitt put together a great lineup of coaches. Defensive coordinator Barry Odom was being pulled by Texas. But he remained strong and stayed in Fayetteville. However, there was one coach who left the program. The highly touted wide receivers coach, Justin Stepp, who was responsible for developing Treylon Burks and Mike Woods into all-league receivers. Coach Stepp left for his home state college of South Carolina. So its an understandable move. The Razorbacks' tight ends, linebackers, and defensive line coach's also left the program. Their future moves are unknown. However, Coach Pittman has so far replaced these roles. Here is a list of the offseason coaching changes that Coach Pittman has made so far (former coaches listed first):
Wide receivers coach: Justin Stepp (left for South Carolina) -> Kenny Guiton (former Colorado State recievers coach)
Tight ends coach: Jon Cooper (destination unknown) -> Cody Kennedy (former Southern Miss offensive line coach)
Linebackers coach: Rion Rhoades (destination unknown) -> Michael Scherer (was the Hogs defensive quality control coach)
Defensive line coach: Derrick LeBlanc (Looking into NFL landing spot) -> Jermial Ashley (former Tulsa defensive line coach)
These coaching changes look solid so far. There are rumors that Coach Pittman isn't done just yet with settling a final coaching staff for next season. Which is very interesting to hear. The future of the Razorback football program is in great hands under Coach Sam Pittman. Woo Pig!
