A thrilling end of the season in the EFL Championship has left many Cardiff fans ecstatic for the upcoming playoff fixtures. Cardiff finish in 5th place after turning their season, with the help of manager Neil Harris, on its head in remarkable fashion. If you told any Cardiff fan, including myself, that the Bluebirds would finish 5th come end of the season, nobody would believe it. Since November, Cardiff have climbed from 14th to 5th having earned the 2nd most points since that time behind champions Leeds United.
Cardiff won their last game 3-0 against a lowly Hull City side in the capital, and will be welcoming Fulham to the Cardiff City Stadium on Monday. Swansea face Brentford the day before, and all Cardiff and Fulham will be keeping a close watch on the events that happen at the Liberty Stadium.
Now on to the early match preview to an on form Fulham side. Fulham drew 1-1 at Wigan, relegating their opponents in the process. Cardiff have won 3 games on the bounce heading in to this crucial matchup. The last meeting between these two sides was less than 2 weeks ago, where the Cottagers claimed an impressive 2-0 victory over the Bluebirds at home.
Cardiff's Neil Harris has told BBC Sports that he believes 'all the pressure is on Fulham' heading into the playoff matchup. He also has criticized Fulham for not already securing automatic promotion. 'With the money they spent they should be in the Premier League' was the managers claim. Harris clearly believes in his team, and we should too Cardiff fans. After all, the Premier League could only be 3 wins away...🔵⚪
