Orlando City traveled up to Georgia to play against Atlanta United on Wednesday night. After 90+ minutes, the final whistle blew and the game ended in a 0-0 draw. Orlando had their chances to finish the game off put just couldn't capitalize.
Definitely not a classic between the two teams, but both earn a point each.
Surprisingly, Atlanta went all out on their lineup for this match, yet fell short and drew against what basically is Orlando's B Team. Star players such as Luis Nani or Ruan were either on the bench or not even in the 18 man squad at all. We can assume that head coach Oscar Pareja decided to rest these players for Sunday when a REAL strong side come to town; Columbus Crew. Columbus are currently 3rd in the East, after dropping from 1st due to a loss and other results in the league.
Orlando currently sit 4th in the standings, behind Columbus (3), Philadelphia (2), and Toronto (1). Orlando City have 7 matches left in the season, every game is the chance to move up the table and be able to clinch a playoff spot for the first time in franchise history.
