The Cleveland Browns are one of the worst franchises in all of sports. They have the longest playoff drought in sports history with no playoffs in 16 years. They are notoriously known for their 0-16 season just a few years ago. But, there is finally a glimmer of hope in Cleveland.
Cleveland has had some of the best offseason the past two years, trading for star WR Odell Beckham Jr., and of course drafted Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield just two years ago.
Their past two seasons they had a record of 7-8-1, and last season a disappointing 6-10.
They had a very successful offseason, departing from Freddie Kitchens who was one of the worst coaches last season, replacing him with Kevin Stefanski. Also adding solid TE Austin Hooper to go along with David Njoku.
One of the best things they did was establish the offensive line. Solidifying the tackle spot with Jack Conklin and Jedrick Wills Jr.
This roster already had tons of talent before this offseason, having two great WRs in Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham, look for them to step it up this season in a new offense.
The biggest component of this team is the QB, Baker Mayfield. He struggled last season but many believe it was due to coaching. If he can replicate his rookie year, he could become an elite quarterback this season.
An underrated part of this team is their defense, with loads of talent.
Although Myles Garrett went through issues last year being suspended for his bad move on Mason Rudolph, if he can get back to normal and with his production, he can possibly win DPOY.
Denzel Ward is another bright spot for Cleveland, along with Greedy Williams they have a solid CB duo.
One of the biggest problems for Cleveland is their great division, Ravens and Steelers seem to be playoff teams, and if they want to make the playoffs, they will need to take down those teams.
The Cleveland Browns finally have some great optimism for their fan base, is this the year they get over the hump and make the postseason?
