My Predictions for the 2020-2021 NBA Season

MVP: Stephen Curry

Dark Horse: Damian Lillard

While the loss of Klay hurts a lot for the Warriors and puts their chances of going back to the finals very low I think Curry is going to put this team over the top. With the help of Kelly Oubre, James Wiseman, and a declining but still solid Draymond Green this Warriors team will finish with a higher seed in the west than everyone thought with Curry averaging 2015-2016 like numbers. And for Damian Lillard and the Blazers, I could see them surprising a lot of people after a very disappointing season where they lost in 5 in the first round to the Lakers. If the Blazers finish with a top 3 or 4 team in the west don't be surprised when you see Dame's name in the MVP conversation.

Curry Stat Predictions: 28 ppg 8 ast 1.2 stl

DPOY: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Dark Horse: Kawahi Lenoard

Just like last year, Giannis is going to lead his team to a top spot in the east. The Bucks are going to be an even better defensive team than last year with the addition of Jrue Holiday and Giannis is going to be at the same level as last year. For Kawahi it is weird to say that a guy who has already won the award twice is a dark horse, but it has been a while and he has gained a bunch of haters for having to carry a broken Clippers team that blew a 3-1 lead to the Nuggets in the second round. The Claw is going to come back this year and show to everyone why his name should be in the ranks with some of the best defensive wings of all time.

Giannis Stat Prediction: 29 ppg, 12 rebs, 1.4 blk

ROY: Issac Okoro

Dark Horse: Patrick Willams

In his first few games in preseason ball, Okoro has come out balling as in his first game he dropped 18 with a game-winning stop and shot. Issac might end this season as the number one or two option for the Cavs and could maybe help them finish better than expected. It is weird for the 4th overall pick to be a dark horse but in the case of Patrick Williams, he is since he might have been the most controversial pick in the draft. Many thought the Bulls should of went with a guy like Deni Advjia or Okoro, but the bulls decided to fill in their biggest need at SF with the best defensive player in the draft. While Willams is not going to have eye-popping offensive stats he could easily be in the running for an all-defensive team ballot as a rookie.

Okoro Stat Predictions: 17 ppg, 6 reb, 1 stl, 1 blk

MIP: Deandre Ayton

Dark Horse: Markell Fultz

With the help of CP3 Ayton has the ability to take a huge leap into all-star caliber this year. While Ayton has been pretty good in his first 2 years I think he will become very good after this year potentially putting his name in for the top 5 centers in the NBA.

Markell Fultz's first few seasons in the NBA have been pretty underwhelming until last year when he became a very solid starter for a Magic team that went to the playoffs. While Fultz might not make the jump to all-star this year he has the potential and ability to jump into one of the more quality guards in the East. Fultz could become the guy who never puts up the eye-popping numbers, but will always help your team get the win.

Ayton Stat Predictions: 20 ppg, 12 reb, 2 blk
