In this article I will be ranking NBA teams based off how they have been playing the past four weeks. I give reasoning underneath each team.
1. Los Angeles Lakers: 8-3
The Lakers have been balling and have the best record in the NBA. With key additions in the offseason such as Dennis Schroder, Montrezl Harrell, Wesley Matthews and many more. The Lakers seem to be thriving when in away arenas as they are 5-0 and 3-3 at home. Look for the Lakers to continue this for the rest of the season.
2. Philadelphia 76ers: 7-3
The duo between Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid has been spectacular. The addition of Seth Curry looks great as Seth is shooting 59% from three and averaging 17 points per game. Tobias Harris is starting to look like the player the 76ers thought they were getting and everything is clicking for the 76ers.
3. Los Angeles Clippers: 7-4
The Clippers are the Clippers. They have been playing fine as the duo Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are balling. I think the chemistry of the Clippers is just beginning and they have just started clicking with each other.
4. Brooklyn Nets: 5-6
Yes the Nets have started off slow with injury to Kevin Durant and Kyrie having personal issues. When Kyrie Irving comes back they will be just fine. A Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving duo is scary when healthy.
5. Phoenix Suns: 7-3
With the addition of Chris Paul and the breakout season by Cameron Johnson everything is rolling for the Suns as the pressure has been taken off Devin Booker this season. The new look Suns look better than ever.
6. Milwaukee Bucks: 6-4
The chemistry is not very good for the Bucks right now. But that should change as the season continues. The Bucks seem just fine and will turn things around to there regular self as the season goes on.
7. Boston Celtics: 7-3
The Boston Celtics have been playing great basketball. With all star Jayson Tatum leading the team to a 7-3 record, the Celtics only problem is that they don't have a 3rd option. Yes they have Jaylen Brown but the Celtics don't have that 3rd scorer or playmaker on their roster. Yes the Celtics are playing great but if they want to jump to the next level they will need to find that 3rd spark to take the pressure off of Tatum and Brown.
8. Golden State Warriors: 6-4
With Draymond Green back and Kelly Oubre jr starting to find his rhythm. Look for the Warriors to become better. As James Wiseman is becoming more used to the NBA and Andrew Wiggins playing great defense. The Warriors remain on top and are a definitely a threat to the Lakers or Clippers for that top seed in the west as the Warriors just began to start rolling as a team.
9. Dallas Mavericks: 5-4
With Luka keeping the Mavericks above a 500% win percentage while Kristaps was out with an injury. Luka's running mate (Kristaps) was expected to make his debut today against the Pelicans until it was canceled because of covid. Kristaps is back with the Mavericks and expect the two (Luka) (Kristaps) to click immediately and to start winning games for the Mavericks. With bench depth behind the two stars the Mavericks look very good and it looks like they will continue to compete for the top seeds in the west.
10. Houston Rockets
This may come as a surprise to the reader. But the Rockets look to be just starting to click. With John Wall, Demarcus Cousins and many other players missing games because of covid at the start of the season. The Rockets have a good lineup and great bench depth. Harden seems content with the Rockets so far. The Rockets team roster is great itself and it seems like the players are ok with how the team is playing. The Rockets key players are, James Harden, John Wall, Christian Wood and Demarcus Cousins and many bench guys. The team is just starting to click.
