Many NBA fans think that the Western Conference is much better than he Eastern Conference.
This is fact.
The Western Conference has many teams that could compete for a championship: Such as arguably the two best teams in the league: Clippers and Lakers; as well as Rockets, Jazz, and Nuggets. And soon to be Pelicans and Grizzlies with the addition of Zion Williamson and Ja Morant.
While the Eastern Conference only has the Bucks, Raptors, Celtics, and 76ers.
The format will work like so: out of the 16 teams that make the playoffs (8 from each conference) the worst team out of those 16 teams will be the 16 seed, second worst team would be the 15 seed, etc, regardless of conference.
This would eliminate the idea of the two best teams in the league (maybe the Clippers and Lakers) not going against each other in the finals.
The only problem I have with this whole idea is that a team will play 63% of its games against its own conference.
One conference will always be better. And in order to make the playoffs you still have to be a top 8 team in your conference.
Part of the NBA is the two conferences. There are rivalries built between these two conferences.
Although, this All-Star game was awesome. I was never a fan of two players drafting. I liked the rivalry between the two conference.
I don't want to look back in the record books and see that two teams of the same conference are versing each other. I want to stick to the traditional NBA.
There are rivalries built between the two conferences that are very famous: Celtics vs Lakers, Cavs vs Warriors, and now Bucks vs Lakers. These are the future of championships, and personally I don't want that to change.
