Over the past few days, Orlando City was rumored to be signing a new winger. This morning, Orlando City confirmed the signing of young 21 year old Ecuadorian Winger, Alexander Alvarado, on a short term loan deal for the rest of the 2020 season with the option to buy for a permanent move. Alvarado could help reinforce star Lion, Luis Nani, when necessary.
On another note, Orlando hosts NYCFC on Wednesday 10/13 at 7:30 P.M EST. The Lions were supposed to host Columbus Crew on Sunday, but unfortunately, the match was postponed due to COVID-19 cases being reported for Orlando City. NYCFC (5th) currently sit 4 points behind Orlando (4th) in the Eastern Conference. Orlando will have the chance to widen the gap to 7 points between the two teams and get closer to securing a playoff spot for the first time. NYCFC are coming off of a 2-1 win over the New England Revolution.
The last time these two teams met was during the MLS Is Back Tournament group stage, in which Orlando pounced and thrashed NYCFC 3-1 with 2 first half goals.
