Game by Game Recap:

Game 1: Game 1 of the series was a pitcher's battle. Both Lance Lynn and German Marquez pitched very well. Lance Lynn went 6 innings and let up 0 runs and combined with relievers to only give up three hits in the shutout victory [all to David Dahl]. This gave the Rangers the first win in the history of Globe Life Field. Rougned Odor batted in the only run with a RBI double in the 6th inning, which gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead, which ended up being the final score. Both teams struggled to hit and produce offense.

Game 2: Game 2 had some more offense in it than the previous game. Both teams had a combined total of 5 runs. Both pitchers still pitched well. There was an error in the field by Rougned Odor which ended up leading to 2 runs, and may have actually cost the Rangers the game, in a way. The Rockies LF Garrett Hampson robbed Sin-Soo Choo of a HR in the first inning, which ended up preventing the game to be tied as the final score was only separated by one run.

Game 3: Game 3 had the most offense out of any games in the series. Both teams combined to score 7 runs. In total, there were three home runs in the game. One by Joey Gallo [The first in Globe Life Field History] and Two by Trevor Story. Rangers SP Corey Kluber left after throwing 18 pitches in the first inning with a shoulder tear, which will sideline him for at least 4 weeks. The Rangers bullpen struggled after Kluber left and the Rockies took advantage of it.

3 things learned from this series:

1) Pitching is ahead of hitters.

Both teams starting pitching thrived in this series. Lance Lynn had the best performance for the Texas Rangers and German Marquez for the Rockies. Both teams struggled to produce offense has there were only 3 HRs and 13 runs in the series. It seems that both sides were off on timing, but it should improve with time as batters face more pitchers.

2) Globe Life Field seems to be more pitcher-friendly

Yes, the batters are behind for sure, but Globe Life Field didn't help them. There were a lot of flyouts in this series that didn't carry well, or would've been a HR at another park like, Globe Life Park or Coors Field. With it being an indoor stadium, Globe life Field won't have the wind to carry balls, and the dimensions are farther than Globe Life Park, so we can expect less HR balls.

3) The Rangers took a huge blow in Starting Pitching

2 time CY Young winner Corey Kluber, who the Rangers traded for in the offseason, played his first game in 15 months on Sunday. He was removed after the first inning after throwing 18 pitches. He was removed because he was experiencing shoulder tightness which ended up being a shoulder tear. This will place Kluber on the IR for AT LEAST 4 weeks. The Rangers best position on the field is their starting rotation, and they were relying on it to help them win. Now, it just took a huge blow, and it will hurt a lot. It's a huge, unfortunate loss for the Rangers. They are going to have to find a way to keep moving on until, and if, Kluber returns.
