The Tampa Bay Rays (12-8, 2nd in AL East) head out to Buffalo to take on the Toronto Blue Jays (6-9, 4th in AL East) in a 3-Game Weekend Series.
The Tampa Bay Rays are Red Hot right now as they are on a 6-Game winning streak. They hosted the New York Yankees at the Trop Last weekend, winning 2-of-3, and then sweeping the Boston Red Sox at Fenway in a 4-Game series, including a dominant 17-8 win.
The thing Jays fans need to look out for in this series is the Rays pitching. The Rays have a very solid Bullpen, and they’re 5th in the league in Team ERA, and 3rd in Total Stikeouts with 182. The Jays may have gotten a break though, the “Big Three” (Snell, Glasnow and Morton) of the Rays won‘t be pitching in this series, Snell and Glasnow each pitched on Wednesday and Thursday, while Morton was supposed to pitch in this series, was recently placed on the IL due to right shoulder inflammation.
Meanwhile the Blue Jays have been struggling this season, but they’ve mostly been on the Road (They played 2 “Home Games” in Washington). The Blue Jays had their “home opener“ Tuesday Night at the New and Improved Sahlen Field in Buffalo vs the Miami Marlins in a 2 Game Series. The Jays won the first game, but the night after they came back from a 8-0 deficit, but ended up losing 14-11 in extras. Bo Bichette had a monster game that night though, he went 5-5, with 4 Singles, a Home Run and a Walk.
This Series is going to be fun to watch, but I think the Rays definitely have a leg up on the Blue Jays.
