The final article in the series is here. The to 10 best centers 2020!! Let's go!
Starting of at number 10 I have Myles Turner. Turner is an elite shot blocker averaging 2.2 per game which is good enough for 4th in the NBA!! Turner has a huge impact on the pacers on the defensive end and isn't horrible on offense either. Myles Turner is till young and developing but I think he will be amazing in his prime. Myles Turner is averaging 11.8 pts, 1.1 ast, and 6.5 reb.
At number 9 I have Jaren Jackson Jr. It is still very early in Jaren's career but already he is one of the best young centers in the NBA. I think the duo of him and Ja Morant has the potential to be a top 3 duo in the NBA. I have full confidence in them. Jaren Jackson Jr is an elite defender that has Rudy Gobert type potential on that end. On the offensive side of things Jaren Jackson Jr is still great. I can't wait to see him develop and grow!! Jaren Jackson Jr is averaging 16.9 pts, 1.4 ast, and 4.7 reb.
At number 8 I have Hassan Whiteside. Personally I think Hassan is overrated because all he has is shot blcoking and rebounding and the rest of his game is trash. Also some people have him as a top 5 center in the NBA and that is just simply false. But overall Hassan Whitside isn't horrible. He is leading the NBA in blocks and is top 5 in rebounds while being pretty impactful on the blazers. Hassan Whitside is averaging 16.3 pts, 1.2 ast, and 14.2 reb.
At number 7 I have Andre Drummond. Drummond is the best rebounder in the NBA. No question about it. I think Drummond is a great overall defender as well because as a center he is top 5 in steals and his post defense is elite. I think Drummond is also a bit underrated because most people overlook his true ability but I understand how good he is. Andre Drummond may go down as one a top 10 rebounder ever if he's not already. Drummond is averaging 17.7 pts, 2.7 ast, and 15.2 reb.
At number 6 I have Nikola Vucevic. Vucevic is easily one of the most underrated centers in the NBA. He was an all star last year but this season it seems like people just forgot how good he was. But Nikola Vucevic is still a 20 point per game scorer while being the best player on the 8th seeded in the east Magic. Vucevic is just a great all around center and I think his impact needs more recgonition. Nikola Vucevic is averaging 19.5 pts, 3.7 ast, and 11.0 reb.
At number 5 Bam Adebayo. Bam went crazy this year and is a top MIP candidate. I personally don't have him winning but I know many people do and I wouldn't be surprised if he won. Bam is the definition of and all around big man. He can shoot, defend, pass, dribble, and do anything on the court really. He is actually one of the best passing big men in the NBA as well as being a great perimeter and post defender. I have full confidence in Bam and I know he will do great things. Bam Adebayo is averaging 16.2 pts, 5.1 ast, and 10.5 reb.
At number 4 I have Rudy Gobert. This man is so good on dfense he shut dow the hole NBA. In all seriousness though he is probably the best post defneder in the league and is the defensive anchor jor the Utah Jazz down low. Gobert is the raining defensive player of the year and is fully deserving of it. The best part, even with all thes power on defense Gobert isn't eve that bad on offense. Rudy Gobert is averaging 15.1 pts, 1.5 ast, and 13.5 reb.
At number 3 I have Karl Anthony-Towns. KAT often gets criticized for lacking defensive ability but on offense KAT is elite. He is one of the best shooting big men in the NBA. Probably number 2 behind Davis Bertans. KAT has a great all around offensive game and is just a great all around big man on that end. Some even say he is better than Embiid. I don't think that's true but I can see where they are coming from. Karl Anthony-Towns is averaging 26.5 pts, 4.4 ast, and 10.8 reb.
At number 2 I have Joel Embiid. Embiid is a great 2 way player and is a great player. Embiid is arguably the best center in the NBA but I have one person ahead of him. Even so, Embiid is super dominant. Embiid has a very bright future and I can't wait to see it unfold. I'm not sure the duo of Embiid and Simmons will work out but even if it doesn't I still Embiid will be a top center. Joel Embiid is averaging 23.4 pts, 3.1 ast, and 11.8 reb.
Finally at number 1 I have Nikola Jokic. Jokic is the best center in the NBA over Embiid for a couple reasons. Nikola Jokic doesn't have an all star level teammate on his team and the Nuggets are still 3rd in a stacked western conference. I know the Nugges have a lot of depth but this is still incredible for Jokic. Also, I think we can all agree Jokic is better than Embiid on offensive, but on defense the gap isn't as big. They are both very close when it comes to defense. So overall Jokic is better. Looking at just Jokic though he is the best passing big man in the NBA while being a great rebounder, ball handler, and shooter. Nikola Jokic is averaging 20.2 pts, 6.9 ast, and 10.2 reb.
And that ends our series. What did you think?
