Houston Texans AT Kansas City Chiefs

A historic debut for the rookie

https://www.foxnews.com/sports/chiefs-clyde-edwards-helaire-historic-debut-victory

The first game of the 2020 NFL season ended with the Super Bowl champs winning 34-20.

Rookie RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire(CEH) made a historic rookie debut on primetime and has the 3rd best RB NFL debut in history. His stat line contained 25 rushes for 138 yards and his first career touchdown, he also averaged 5.5 yards per carry. As the game went on, Edwards-Helaire touched the ball more and more. Getting stuffed at the goal line twice was not encouraging but that will get fixed. With a little more than a week to get things ironed out. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is looking at a possible OROY award.

In a 38-6 dismantling of the Cleveland Browns, the Baltimore Ravens picked up right where they left off.

Baltimore's 1st&2nd round picks shined today as LB Patrick Queen had 4 tackles and assists with his first career sack and forced fumble. RB J.K. Dobbins ran for 22 yards and 2TDs. Lamar Jackson went 20/25 with 275 yards and 3TDs. Wide receiver Marquise Brown had 5 catches for 101 yards. Tight end Mark Andrews had 2TDs. The defense intercepted Browns QB Baker Mayfield once.

Seattle Seahawks AT Atlanta Falcons

Seahawks offense shines in win

38-25 in favor of Seattle was the final score in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday.

The Seattle offense totaled 406 yards and 5TDs. Russel Willson was 31/35 with 322 yards and 4TDs. RB Chris Carson scored the Seahawks first two touchdowns. WR D.K Metcalf caught 4 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown. Seattle's offense was clicking on all cylinders today and only gave up 3 sacks, a improvement from last years O-line.

Next Game: VS Patriots Sun,9/20/20 4:20pm

New York Jets AT Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen tops stat chart in win

https://www.buffalobills.com

In a 27-17 win on Sunday, Bills QB Josh Allen made sure people were talking about him Sunday night and all throughout Monday.

Allen went 33/46 for 312 yards and 2TDs, he was also the games leading rusher with 14 carries for 57 yards and a touchdown. Josh sprinkled the ball around to 8 different receivers including Stefon Diggs and rookie RB Zach Moss. So far it looks like Allen is the second best QB from the 2017 NFL Draft. The draft including Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson, they were all taken in the first round. Josh Allen and the Bills travel to Miami to face the Dolphins next week, he should be racking up around 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Next Game: AT Miami Sun,9/20/20 9:00am

Las Vegas Raiders AT Carolina Panthers

Teddy Bridgewater AND Josh Jacobs shine on Sunday

Josh Jacobs and the Raiders won 34-30 on Sunday.

Jacobs ran for 93 yards and 3 touchdowns on 25 carries while averaging 3.7 yards per carry. He also caught 4 passes for 46 yards. Jacobs was able to run because rookie WR Henry Ruggs stretched the field with his speed. The blocks were much better this year and Las Vegas mixed run and pass nicely. Jacobs tallied 31+ fantasy points and propelled many people to a win including myself.

Next Game: VS Saints Mon,9/21/20 4:15pm

Panthers new QB Teddy Bridgewater started off slow, but then a 75-yard strike to WR Robby Anderson launched a potential Panthers comeback. Teddy B went 22/34 for 270 yards and a touchdown and ran 4 times for 26 yards. Bridgewater gave the ball to RB Christian McCaffrey a lot but will look to spread it around more in the following weeks. He ended the day with 18+ fantasy points and propelled many fantasy teams to a win, including mine once again.

Next Game: AT Buccaneers Sun,9/20/20 9:00am

Chicago Bears AT Detroit Lions

The Lions are still the Lions

Detroit Free Press

Some things changed in 2020, not the Detroit Lions. The Lions lost to the Chicago Bears 27-23 on Sunday, but really should have won the game.

Up 23-6 with 3:24 left in the 3Q, the Lions allowed Mitch Trubisky, who went 20/36 for 242 yards and 3TDs, to score 21 unanswered points. Matthew Stafford found an open D'Andre Swift in the end zone but he did the one thing you don't do in football, look away from the ball. Swift dropped it and the Lions ended up losing. Stafford went. 24/42 for 297 yards and a TD and INT. Jimmy Graham scored and Javon Wims scored TDs as Mitch threw to a covered Anthony Miller for the game winning score. The Lions are still the Lions by blowing leads and being the culprit of unfortunate events as well as mediocre coaching. It doesn't get easier for Detroit as they travel to Wisconsin to face Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

Next Game: AT Green Bay Sun,9/20/20 9:00am

Indianapolis Colts AT Jacksonville Jaguars

Minshew Mania is the real deal

Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

After trading away what seemed to be all their playmakers, the organization forgot one man, Gardner Minshew.

In the Jaguars 27-20 win over the Colts on Sunday, Minshew shows fans he can deliver wins. Going 19/20 for 173 yards and 3TDs while gaining 19 yards on the ground, Minshew overcame all odds and threw to 10 different players over the course of the game. The leading receiver, Keelan Cole, caught all 5 passes thrown to him for 47 yards and a touchdown. Laviska Shenault JR. and D.J. Chark also caught touchdowns. Gardner picked apart the Colts defense and is making a case to remain the starter in Jacksonville. He averaged 8.7 yards per pass.Wearing the captain patch seems to have given the 2019 6th round pick a purpose, can he be the next Cinderella quarterback?

Next Game: AT Titans Sun,9/20/20 9:00am

Green Bay Packers AT Minnesota Vikings

Maybe Green Bay has a better receiver core than everyone thought

All Green Bay needs is that 12 to 17 connection, and they proved it Sunday in a 43-34 win over the division rival Vikings.

Aaron Rodgers doing what he does by torching the NFC North, this time he did it by throwing 32/44 for 364 yards and 4TDs. WR Devante Adams caught 14/17 for 156 yards and 2TDS, including an average of 11.1 yards per reception. WR Marquez-Valdes-Scantling(MVS) is showing off his playmaking abilities as he caught 4 passes for 96 yards and a TD, including a 45 yard score. The Bad Man's go-to target towards the end of last year, Allen Lazard, caught 4 passes for 63 yards and a touchdown. The Packers offense exploded for a total of 522 yards.

Miami Dolphins AT New England Patriots

The New England Patriots beat the Miami Dolphins 21-11 on Sunday, or should I say Cam Newton Beat the Miami Dolphins Sunday.

Cam Newton went 15/19 for 155 and threw no touchdowns. He was the leading rusher and ran 15 times for 75 yards and 2TDs. Newton accumulated 230 of the total 278 Patriot yards. The receiver dropped passes and the running backs could not get going as Cam took it upon himself to score 2 of the 3 touchdowns, Sony Michal scored on a 1-yard rush. Newton checked down less than Tom Brady and most likely excited New England fans as Cam set the franchise record for QB rush yards in a single game with 75. The defense intercepted Ryan Fitzpatrick 3 times which helped the field position, Miami had 372 total yards, more than New England.

Next Game: AT Seattle Sun,9/20/20 4:20pm

Philadelphia Eagles AT Washington Football Team

Offense and defense clicked for Washington

The Washington offense had 27 unanswered points in their 27-17 win against their division rival.

Second year signal caller Dwayne Haskins finished the day going 17/31 for 178 yards and a touchdown. Running back Peyton Barber had two game altering touchdowns and Logan Thomas was the red zone target for Haskins. The Washington offense had 197 total yards on offense, but it was the defense that secured the win for them.

Rookie DE Chase Young Chased Carson Wentz and sacked him 1.5 times and had 2 tackles and assists, the team had 8 sacks. DBs Jimmy Moreland and Fabian Moreau each had an interception which lead to points. The defense also forced 3 fumbles but only recovered one. Washington has 5 first rounders on the defensive line, they all went to work on Sunday.

Next Game: AT Arizona Sun,9/20/20 12:05pm

Los Angeles Chargers AT Can Cincinnati Bengals

Chargers offense and Joe Burrow

The Chargers beat Cincinnati 16-13 and avoided overtime by a Bengals missed field goal as time expired.

QB Tyrod Taylor went 16/30 for 208 yards in his first start as a Charger. Rookie RB Joshua Kelly scored his first NFL touchdown and rushed for 60 yards. The Chargers had 363 total yards of offense and went 6/16 on 3rd downs. The offense was run heavy and that is what ultimately helped them take it down to the missed field goal. The offense was enough for the Bengals but they will need to greatly improve if they want to win anymore games.

Next Game: VS Chiefs Sun,9/20/20 12:25pm

1st overall pick Joe Burrow had himself a pretty good debut. He went 23/36 for 193 yards and an INT. He ran for his first NFL touchdown and 46 yards in total. The offensive line allowed him little time as he was sacked three times and pressured quite often. Burrow was a bright spot on the dim day that formed around Cincinnati. They totaled 315 total yards on offense and Burrow had 239 yards of the 315. Burrow has his first division game next week on the road, a true test to see if he can battle in the spotlight in a primetime game.

Next Game: AT Cleveland Thu,9/17/20 4:20pm

Tampa Bay Buccaneers AT New Orleans Saints

So far Tom Brady is a system QB

Creator: Brett Duke | Credit: AP

The most anticipated game of Week 1 ended in a 34-23 loss for Tom Brady and the Bucs.

Tom Brady went 23/36 for 239 yards, 2TDs and 2INTs, including a pick six and a rushing TD. Brady had a hard time finding Mike Evans but his only catch was a TD. Brady targeted and hit 10 different receivers including his old teammate in New England. HC Bruce Arians said the game outcome was "On Brady" and it was. He has so many offensive threats but he favored Chris Godwin, who caught 6 passes for 79 yards. So far it seems Brady is a system QB but his #1 target was playing hurt and it was against a good team, he isn't used to playing those.

Next Game: VS Panthers Sun,9/20/20 9:00am

Arizona Cardinals AT San Francisco 49ers

What 49ers defense?

https://www.azcentral.com/restricted/?return=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.azcentral.com%2Fstory%2Fsports%2Fnfl%2Fcardinals%2F2020%2F09%2F14%2Fcardinals-report-card-high-grades-across-board-against-49-ers%2F5789022002%2F

Kyler Murray and the Arizona offense torched the 49ers defense for 410 yards and a 3TDs in a 24-20 win.

The 49ers defense let up 410 yards, 3 touchdowns and 24 points in Week 1, not very encouraging. The defense did intercept Murray but it wasn't enough. They allowed the QB to rush for 91 yards and a TD. They allowed DeAndre Hopkins a career high of 14 catches and 151 yards. They only sacked Kyler twice. The defense has an easy task ahead of them on Sunday and hopefully will look like the 2019 49ers defense.

Dallas Cowboys AT Los Angeles Rams

The aggressive Cowboys must slow down

The Rams faced off against a Cowboys team that looked ready, but the Rams new stadium gave them an extra boost of energy. Dallas lost Sunday Night Football 20-17 and also lost key players.

LB and defensive signal caller Leighton Vander Esch broke his collarbone and is out 6-8 weeks. TE Blake Jarwin tore his ACL and requires season ending surgery to fix it. The Cowboys were aggressive last night and instead of attempting a game tying field goal, they elected to go for it and were stopped short of the 1st down marker. Dallas only ran the ball 27 times of the 69 plays they ran on offense. They were a passing team last night and it bit them back.

Next Game: VS Atlanta Sun,9/20/20 9:00am

Pittsburgh Steelers AT New York Giants

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers offense provides

The first of a Monday Night double header concludes with the Pittsburgh Steelers beating the New York Giants 26-16.

Ben Roethlisberger looked sharp in his return and got into a rhythm starting with the Steelers 2-minute drill right before halftime. Ben went 21/32 and threw for 229 yards and 3TDs. He also used his legs to pick up a crucial first down and ended the night with 9 rushing yards. Roethlisberger threw good balls and passes only Ben could complete, he also shook off defenders and avoided a sack once or twice but the O-line didn't help him much.

The Steelers offense totaled 349 yards and included some big plays from young guys. Rookie WR Chase Claypool had 2 catches for 39 yards, including a toe tap sidelines grab of 28 yards. 2nd year back Benny Snell took over for an injured James Conner and ended up gaining 113 yards, a career high. JuJu Smith-Schuster caught 2TDs and 6 passes for 69 yards. WR James Washington had an impressive touchdown by powering through defenders mid tackle. Pittsburgh looks to fix their mistakes they had on special teams and address the injury RT Zach Banner suffered, which looked to be a significant one.

Next Game: VS Denver Sun,9/20/20 9:00am

Tennesse Titans AT Denver Broncos

Jeudy's drops and Titans kicking woes

In the second game of the Monday Night double header, the Tennessee Titans beat the Denver Broncos by a score of 16-14.

Rookie receiver Jerry Jeudy had two drops that should have been caught and were key parts of the game. If Denver wouldn't have thrown one of those to Jerry, time would have kept running and it would've made it harder for Tennessee to kick the go-ahead field goal. Jeudy finished the game with 4 catches for 56 yards. He showed what he can do with his speed and his change of direction during mid play. Jeudy will only get better and attention on him will decrease when Courtland Sutton comes back.

Next Game: AT Pittsburgh Sun,9/20/20 9:00am

Stephen Gostowski went 1/4 for field goals and 1/2 on extra points. The only field goal he made was the 25 yard game winner. He missed from 42,44, and 47. The Titans would have easily won if he connected on the other three. They departed with veteran kicker Ryan Succop over the offseason and he landed in Tampa Bay. Gostowski needs to correct what's happening or the Titans might cut him if they already haven't decided.
