An Underage Sports Journal For Students of the Game

The Perfect NFL Quarterback in 2021

The Perfect QB is what every Owner, GM, and Coach want on their team yet had never existed. This is what the Scots looks for every year yet have never found it. Today i will break it down and show the best at every twist and turn. I will say why my top picks at every category is and make my Ideal QB.

Accuracy: Aaron Rodgers

In a few years, we will probably say Deshaun if this whole thing goes as he is statistically the most accrute QB, There is nobody that even touches Aaron Rodgers Deep ball and the Zip. He has the best placement of the ball of any QB ever. This is an open and shut case in the modern NFL the only other guys who have cases for the position are Bridgewater or Carr.

Arm Strength: Patrick Mahomes

This is a toss-up and can’t go wrong with either Allen or Mahomes but I give it to Mahomes. Bills Running Back Zach Moss claim Allen has thrown 100 Yards. If we take Moss for his word then Allen has the 17-yard edge. The Farthest Mahomes recorded was 83. I will go with Mahomes. If we said Arm talent I would still lean towards Mahomes as that factors in Accuracy but I don’t trust Moss that Allen has thrown 100 yards. Mahomes in-game also has some more consistent attack downfield.

Intelligence: Tom Brady

This is a huge factor of how a offense functions. This is when a QB sees a bad match up or sees what the Defense is set up and can read the field and sees what helps prior to it happening. Tom has done this at the highest level especially as his physical body is declining. This is what keep him in the league and what kept Drew Brees in for so long. They can tell you what the defense is planning to do and can move or adjust on the fly to confuse the defense or make sure his target wins.

Speed: Lamar Jackson

This was a Obvious answer for this pick a few years ago it would probably be cam but he has show regression in speed and NE has grounded him more than Caroline had. This is why i choose Lamar i mean what do i say he is he best QB on his feet and it is a treat to see him move. Lamar is miles ahead of anybody else in this league it’s not even funny.

Clutch: Matthew Stafford

This was between Stafford, Brady, Rodgers, and Mahomes. All time Eli Manning would have been added to this list but i choose Stafford out of the QBs to keep calm under stress better than anybody to ever do it. We have seen him do it again and again. He has the most 4th quarter comebacks of anybody in the league.

Body Structure: Josh Allen

Cam Newton would the ideal QB body in 2015 but he had to take too many hits leaving his body in jeopardy. This is a similar problem when you look at Big Ben so that leaves Josh Allen. He can truck LBs as Derick Henry does to DBs. He is 6’5 237 and can move. He is the ideal size and That’s the pick here. He is young and doesn’t have a lot of mileage and doesn’t have an extensive injury history.

Leadership: Tom Brady

The Ultimate leader himself the glue that held the NE roster and TB roster together for so long. He is the one who makes the biggest sacrifices and the greatest role model for all. He is why the offensive problems always look minor and takes all the blame from the media and shields his defense.

Improvising: Russell Wilson

When the play falls apart and the defensive line gets to you too fast or the WRs are having a tough time who do you call? I choose Wilson to think on his feet he is able to move and able to extend a play long enough for a DB to slip up or a hole to escape from. He senses pressure better than any other QB i’ve ever seen. Combine all that and you get Russell Wilson.

Personality: Cam Newton

This is a controversial pick and it differentiate between people but i look for the most energetic and the guy who will lift everybody up. The person who will make you want to run through a wall. This of course has a huge downside as after a loss this can mess with the whole teams moral. This isn’t a personality that just bounces back and starts back up. Cam is a dog and takes it serious as the next. He isn’t the generic personality and is something special. Another reason is when the greatest coach ever wants your service it shows it has some positive connotations.  Cam gives its tight and doesn’t change when i front of a camera or in a media conference.

Coach ability: Patrick Mahomes

It’s hard to double guess Andy Reid when your young and your offense works so well. I’ve never heard any slander from Mahomes from his teammates  that he is hard to work with and the relationship with Reid has worked phenomenally.

Experience: Tom Brady

I mean historically is there any QB who can compare with this kind of experience. His resume talks for itself and nobody can match it all time let alone right now. Mahomes has the chance with the way it looks right now.

That is just my opinion on this subject and my take. Let me know what you think about some of my choices for each pick.
