Vanderbilt Football(3-4, 0-3) is still looking for its first SEC win since 2018 against Mizzou. The ‘Dores face the Tigers(2-4, 0-3) once again, this time on the road. This is the most winnable SEC game for Vanderbilt in a while; Mizzou has had their fair share of struggles this season. Their only wins came against poor teams in Louisiana Tech and Abilene Christian. However, all of their SEC losses are by one score, meaning they had a chance in every game. Vanderbilt looked like they had a chance at getting their first SEC win 2 weeks ago against #9 Ole Miss. They had a 20 point lead at one point in the second quarter, having scored on every offensive drive and forced some turnovers. But, from this point on, the game was an absolute nightmare, resulting in a 54-28 final score. Vanderbilt will need to play well for 4 quarters if it wants an SEC win, not 2. They have a realistic chance to do so after their past three games came against top 10 opponents.
Here are my keys to the game for a Vandy win:
- Mix it up on offense Bring Mike Wright in every once in a while. Keep running efficient schemes.
- Force some turnovers. Cook will throw an interception if you force him to. He is statistically the worst QB in the SEC.
- Limit Mizzou star Luther Burden. He has been dominating and is their main source of offense.
