Week 4 Game Recap: Browns @Falcons

Week 4 Game Recap: Browns @ Falcons

What a disappointing game to say the least as the Browns drop one in Atlanta and lose to the Falcons 23-20. The Browns move to 2-2 on the year and very well should be 4-0 if it wasn’t for terrible defense in the 4th quarter and questionable decision making.

The Browns offense looked very good in the first half moving up and down the field really at will besides a mistake by TE David Njoku fumbling the ball after a huge gain that gave the Falcons great field position ending in a touchdown for Atlanta. Entering the second half the offense just completely lost their mojo and really couldn’t get anything going. The Browns took the lead on a 28-yard touchdown from Nick Chubb then was followed by a field goal from the Falcons on the other end to make it 23-20 with a chance to tie or take the lead on a game- winning drive from Jacoby Brissett. Let’s just say that drive didn’t go as planned as Brissett threw a pick on a horrible forced pass which sealed the Falcons win. The only bright spot on this offense was Nick Chubb who rushed for 118 yards and added another touchdown on the year.

Coming into this one the Browns defense was really banged up losing 3 of their starting defensive linemen in Myles Garrett, Jadeveon Clowney, and Taven Bryan, that really showed in this one as the Browns got almost no pressure on the QB. The Browns defense played absolutely terrible again this year as they continue to show they can’t make adjustments and just don’t want to play football in the 4th quarter. Going into the second half the Falcons offense was able to do whatever they wanted running up and down the field with zero adjustments from Joe Woods and the defense. This is another game that you can say the defense did not come through and really cost us this game, if changes are not made there will definitely be some changes to the coaching staff real soon and that starts with DC Joe Woods whose job could be on the line this coming Sunday if the defense does not perform up to standard.

The Browns have the chance to really bounce back as they come back home and take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Go Browns!!
