Wild Postseason Woes and a Few Hopes for Next Season

The Minnesota Wild finished their season with a disappointing exit to the playoffs in 6 games. Although we have come to expect this from Minnesota Sports, it was still heart wrenching when we definitely thought it was our year after getting Fleury in a trade from Chicago which sent a conditional 1st Round pick their way.

All things considered Fleury played well in the playoffs, but in my opinion, they should’ve continued with the Fleury/Talbot tandem and kept switching them each game. This is one reason the Wild took the L in the postseason. We took the loss because Talbot was rusty from not playing for 4 games and only practiced with the team in those times.

Talbot was understandably upset when the season was over, and I agree with him. Evason did not play him enough and in turn he was rusty when he got his first and only start for the Wild in the playoffs. There is also no chance of Fiala coming back to sign with the Wild as he is asking too steep a price. Fleury has a chance, but the Wild have to give him the right price.

Here’s to hoping we get good picks in the draft and resign and/or trade for some good promising young players that have a chance in the Wild organization.
