Wild’s Chances at Winning the Cup Next Season

The Minnesota Wild had a dissapointing exit from the playoffs this season. Many fans (including me) thought it was the refs fault due to them calling everything on the Wild and almost no penalties to the Golden Knights. Including Reaves who made several attempts to injure key players for the Wild. In this article I will go over the chances that the Wild have of getting closer to the cup than in recent years.

I feel like the Wild have a decent chance of making into the playoffs next season, going deep into the playoffs is another story though. Next season we will most likely be adding talents such as Boldy and Rossi on top of the already proven Kirill Kaprizov, who lead rookies in points this season with 51 points and played in 55 of 56 games this season.

Rossi didn’t play any hockey this season due to recovering from COVID-19 complications that resulted in him having the virus in December. Boldy, who played for the Wild’s farm team in Iowa and Boston College got 51 points in 36 games for both teams.

I think if the Wild get rid of some contracts like Parise’s and Suter’s they would be better off because both of them have been underperforming for their contract amount, both are beyond their primes and I think it was a mistake to sign them for 13 years each.

Overall getting rid of old players and bringing in new ones would work well for the Wild in the long run, due to the fact that older players don’t perform as well as they did when they were signed.
